
Dr. Mattea Giglio is an Advocate at Lexpractis, having joined the firm in 2019 as a trainee and obtaining her warrant in 2024. She graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree in 2022, presenting a dissertation entitled “Separation Proceedings in Malta: Are Homemakers Adequately Compensated?”. She subsequently earned a Master of Advocacy in 2023.
Mattea regularly assists clients in navigating complex legal disputes across a range of civil law matters. She has developed experience in tortious liability claims, quantification of damage claims, and insurance-related matters, assisting both private clients and insurance companies in contentious proceedings and claims management.
She further represents clients in family law proceedings, assisting individuals from the early stages of mediation and then throughout the necessary proceedings before the Courts. Her work in this area includes separation proceedings, divorce proceedings as well as annulment proceedings. She also assist clients on maintenance claims, and matters relating to the care and custody of minors, besides other related family law issues.
In addition, Mattea has also assisted clients in matters concerning succession law, including advising on the interpretation and administration of wills, as well as representing clients in disputes arising from differing interpretations of testamentary dispositions.
